About Owner
Brandi Ludwig is the proud granddaughter of Bill and Karen Engel. After moving to Live Oak full-time in 2021, Brandi immersed herself in the operations of Karen's Tack, learning the craft of leatherwork under the guidance of her grandfather, Bill. Despite the loss of Karen in 2013 and Bill in 2023, Brandi is dedicated to preserving her grandparents' legacy.
With a deep passion for animals and a commitment to helping others, Brandi is devoted to maintaining the high standards of Karen's Tack. She continues to run the business as usual, offering expert leatherwork and ensuring that Karen's Tack remains a beloved destination for the community.

With Brandi's expert knowledge, honed under the guidance of her grandfather Bill, she can repair your leather items and create custom pieces. Bill & Karen Engel
Bill and Karen met as teenagers in Davie, Florida, and quickly bonded over their shared love of rodeo. Recognizing the need for more tack and supplies availability, they decided to create their own solution. After getting married and starting a family, they established Karen's Tack, a store born from both Karen and Bill's passion for tack. As the business grew, Bill began his leatherwork journey, adding a unique touch to the store's offerings.
In 1992, they purchased a ranch in Live Oak, Florida, and in 2008, they decided to relocate Karen's Tack there, becoming a cherished part of the community. When Karen passed away in 2013, Bill remained dedicated to keeping her dream alive, continuing to run the business with love and devotion. In 2023, Bill passed away, reuniting with his beloved Karen, but their legacy and love for Karen's Tack lives on.
